Aqualung Group Names Scott Rittschof President for North America

Aqualung Group, the world leader in diving equipment and water sports, has named Scott Rittschof president of Aqualung Group, North America. Rittschof brings to this position an in-depth knowledge of the outdoor sports industry and a proven track record in various leadership roles within blue chip brands. Rittschof’s arrival marks another milestone for the Aqualung Group as the company seeks to consolidate its position as the world leader in scuba diving and grow its freediving, swimming, snorkeling and paddling segments. under brands such as Aqualung, Apeks, Aquasphere, Omer, Military Professional Divers, Stohlquist and Americans.

Appointed by Bruno Cercley, former chairman and chief executive of Rossignol Group, who joined Aqualung Group as executive chairman of the board in June 2022, Rittschof will lead the North American business, which accounts for half of revenues of the group. He will play a key role in the overall strategy to elevate the entire brand portfolio across retail and digital, modernizing the distribution model and expanding brand engagement to connect with more consumers across all touchpoints with an immediate focus on operational excellence.

Rittschof joins Aqualung Group as the company nears the completion of a multi-year transformation that includes a modernized operating model, new locations around the world and significant investments to build brands into market leaders. Based in Carlsbad, Calif., the company’s North American headquarters, Rittschof’s official start date is August 15, 2022.

Most recently, Rittschof served as vice president of the bicycle division at Pierer E-Bikes North America. Rittschof joined Pierer Mobility AG, Europe’s leading manufacturer of motorized two-wheelers, in 2021 when the company acquired the Felt brand from the Rossignol Group. In this role as an executive member of the strategy team, he led the acquisition of the business and the transition to new ownership. Rittschof has also held leadership positions with the Pon Bicycle Group and the Cycling Sports Group.
