Asgard Annex High Security Bike Shop Reviews – Bike – Equipment

Asgard Annex High Security Bike Shop

the Annex of Asgard is a high security, police approved bicycle storage unit made of heavy gauge galvanized steel and featuring a five point locking system, which is drill and pick resistant.

It comes flat packed with all parts clearly labelled. The instructions are easy to follow and there’s also a helpful video online, so it’s pretty simple to install, with just a few hassles.

We would have found the corners easier to put together had we had a longer screwdriver for the drill, and the self-tapping screws need a bit of elbow grease to screw into place. [This though, the manufacturers say, is why their storage units are so secure and SBD approved, and why they recommend a power driver]

It took more than a few hours to build, with two people – preferably one on the big side! – certainly makes the job much easier.

Ideally, the area the shed sits on should be completely flat, as this will make construction much easier. Turns out our deck isn’t as flat as we thought it would be, and aligning the various components was problematic with brute force required.

The forest green color gets our vote because it’s pleasing to the eye and helps blend into the garden, without being an eyesore.

Although designed to store up to three bikes, we suggest this is three road bikes and not mountain bikes as it is quite comfortable with our mountain bike and road bike inside. The interior shelf on the inside rear wall is useful for helmets and tools, but not the best position for larger bikes. What we would like to see inside is a ring or post that we could lock the bike to, for added security. However, if you are concerned about this, you can buy it as an extra.

The unit certainly feels very secure and substantial, but time will tell. We don’t want to tempt fate in case someone is desperate to get their hands on two crummy, but well-used and beloved bikes.

Verdict: It’s pricey, but worth it, especially when you compare it to the cost of replacing your bike if stolen, and you can often find deals. 83%
