• Join Mr. Howard at 10 am on Friday for an in-person story hour at Hemlock Park Bandshell. Please adhere to current social distancing and masking requirements.


• Take & Make kits are available while stocks last. Stop by the office on the first floor of the library and ask a member of staff for one. 426 S. Michigan Ave., Big Rapids.

• AZ Kit Club: BRCL has a new early literacy program for 3-5 year olds. Participants receive weekly bags that feature a letter of the alphabet and Talk is Teaching activities. Register by emailing Sarah at [email protected]

• Knitting evening: 6.30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month on Zoom. Knit Night offers a conversation among other things to talk about the projects we are working on. Register by contacting Sarah at [email protected]

Reed town areaNeighborhood library

Unvaccinated people are required to wear a mask to enter. WiFi is accessible from the parking lot and sidewalk services are always available.

Summer hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

• “Bottled Goodbyes” by Ric Mixter: Tuesday July 20 at 7pm, via Zoom. Author and wreck researcher Ric Mixter will talk about his new book, Bottled Goodbyes, which chronicles the most famous messages ever recovered, including three bottles found after the Titanic disaster. A Zoom link will be displayed on morton.michlibrary.org prior to the virtual event.

Walton Erickson Public Library
