Big August plans in store at Liverpool Public Library – Eagle News Online

LIVERPOOL – August is fast approaching. Summers can pass in the blink of an eye here, two, three. But there are still plenty of programs to let you know you were part of Let’s Read, Liverpool! 2022.

Liverpool Public Library staff members who have set up programs have ensured that summer reading programs for children, teenagers and adults are always well filled.

You can still sign this year’s pledge to be part of the community of readers, easily found online at lpl.org/pledge.

LPL staff members also bring an iPad to the LPL2Go Book Bike Cart community outreach programs to help anyone who wants to sign the pledge. Find the staff and cart at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 10 and 17 at Johnson Park and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, August 11 at Wegmans Landing in Onondaga Lake Park.

You can find upcoming events for kids, teens and adults that are right for you at LPL.org/events.

Buy in the local market

The big day to discover many fantastic locally produced and created products in one easy walk will be from 6-8pm on Thursday August 4th on the Dinosaur Garden Lawn during the LPL Buy Local Marketplace. Visitors will find community artisans, chefs and more ready to sell what they do best.

Upcycling for a Cause, Barbara’s Whimsical Art, Bayberry Crafts, The Color Wench, Kathy’s Alterations, Finch and Fern, The Master’s Craft, Bean Cuisine, Aries Design, Face Painting by Erna Eno and Grammy’s Yarning will participate.

Tie Dye on the Lawn

A popular outing for all ages returns to the Dinosaur Garden Lawn from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23.

Tie Dye on the Lawn allows designers to choose their designs to create a masterpiece to wear proudly. Bring along a cotton garment and the library offers design ideas, rubber bands, fastening solution, dye in different colors and a cleaning station. Staff members will be available to provide advice.

Wear your creation proudly at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 25 for the Tie Dye Fashion Show. Attendees will be invited to stroll down the track – the lawn path of the Dinosaur Garden – as fellow tie-dye fans offer encouragement, support and admiration.

Check for updates on all events as the date approaches at LPL.org/events.
