Concerts of various genres featured in Ripley Independence Celebration

Ten free music acts will be featured during Ripley’s six-day Independence Celebration from June 29-July 4. They are comprised of genres ranging from country and bluegrass to the classics and Christian rock.

Charleston’s Metro Band gets things started with an 8 p.m. concert on Tuesday, June 29, on the lawn of the Jackson County Courthouse. The 40-member concert band plays popular show tunes and patriotic music.

Bluegrass Gospel Night is 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30. The Sheppard Brothers, Tracy Miller and The Putnam Family with The Cossin Brothers are performing on the courthouse stage, sponsored by Constellium.

West Virginia native Adam D. Tucker brings his Tim McGraw Tribute to the stage at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 1. Rimshot, a band from the Parkersburg-Marietta area, performs at 6:30 p.m.

Three bands are playing on Saturday, July 3, after the noon Sheetz Grand Parade and prior to the 10 p.m. fireworks. Ultra Sound, a local favorite specializing in 80s rock, is on the Constellium stage at 4 p.m. Rockland Road of Nashville follows at 6 p.m. and Dave & Daphne perform at 8 p.m.
