Food & Wine Events in Atlanta June 2021

Celebrate unstaged lagers and small ales at the first Small Beer Festival. Co-hosted by the City of Duluth and Good Word Brewing & Public House, the festival will feature over 80 beers from over 40 breweries. Entrants, including Arches Brewing, Wrecking Bar Brewpub, and Three Taverns, must offer a pale lager and beer at 5.5% ABV or less. Water and coffee will also be available during the event.

Atlanta’s “ Unique Eats ”

Discover some of Atlanta’s culinary history and offbeat places to eat with a Charis Books & More e-book event. Author Amanda Plumb, the author of Unique Eats and Eateries of Atlanta, ”will discuss the city’s most distinctive and delicious places to eat while sharing the untold stories of the people behind the city’s rise to culinary greatness.

Dining in Avalon

Outdoor Dining Savor the Boulevard is returning for its third year at Avalon in Alpharetta. Seven participating restaurants, including Biltong Bar, Branch & Barrel, Colletta, Cru Wine Bar, Oak Steakhouse, Rumi’s Kitchen, and South City Kitchen, will activate their own themed table and serve a fixed-price four-course meal with drink pairings. A DJ will provide music and the table decoration is part of a designer showcase in which florists and designers team up with Avalon restaurants to compete for the best table scenery creation. Proceeds will go to Giving Kitchen, which works to provide emergency assistance to food service workers.

Learn more about oysters

The mussel and oyster industries of Canada Food Island and Prince Edward Island will host a virtual oyster masterclass as part of Social Shell. The 60-minute class, led by world oyster sheller champion Patrick McMurray, will provide an overview of oysters – and demystify common misinformation about – oysters. McMurray will provide information on how to buy, store, shell and serve oysters.

Atlanta Summer Beer Festival

Atlanta’s 11th Annual Summer Beer Festival returns with over 150 beers, hard seltzers, wines, and ciders, plus live music, a DJ, games, and food available for purchase.

Make dinner for daddy

Celebrate Father’s Day with a Virtual Cooking Class with Cuiline Steak. The 90-minute course features an Argentinian-inspired menu of sirloin and chimichurri roasted potatoes, and dulce de leche and rum ice cream. The course includes home delivery of a box of pre-dosed ingredients with a shopping list for fresh produce and meat.
