Story Time, Library Activities – The Daily Eastern News

The Charleston Carnegie Public Library will be offering free craft activities for children and teens for a second week, June 14-20.

The stencil-on-fabric activity that was originally scheduled for June 7 had to be delayed due to weather issues. It was moved from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 16 at the KidSpace Patio.

Miss Brenda’s Preschool Story Time, a weekly event for kids, kicks off June 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kiwanis Park Amphitheater.

The event will feature action songs, stories and rhymes, and is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. every Monday through July 19, unless the weather precludes use of the outdoor setting.

Cancellations will be announced on the Charleston Carnegie Public Library Facebook page. The library asks participants to maintain a social distance.

In addition, the library will provide take-out “shrink plastic” crafts.

Children and teens ages 3-18 can stop by the KidSpace office June 14-20 to pick up plastic.

At home, they’ll need crayons or markers, scissors, a cookie sheet, oven, and oven mitts to follow directions.

The library recommends supervising children 12 and under during the activity, especially when using the oven.
