Teenage boy shot dead outside Houston convenience store

HOUSTON (CW39) Houston police are investigating the shooting of a teenage boy who was fatally shot in North Houston last Monday night.

Police said the shooting happened outside Jensen Gas and Food located at 7626 Jensen Drive around 11:15 p.m.

Local police said the 14-year-old victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

Detectives C. Johnson and I. Rios-Hernandez of the HPD Major Assault and Domestic Violence Division reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a gunshot at a convenience store at the above address. They found the victim with gunshot wounds to the legs. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.

Investigators learned the victim arrived at the business on a bicycle and was approached by a suspect, described only as a black male, who left the business. The suspect pulled out a gun, chased the victim, then fired several shots. The suspect left the scene with an unknown black woman in a silver four-door pickup truck.

At this time, a motive is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
